You record readings, counts or balances in separate notes and want to see how each value changed from the one before.
Bases Row Deltas adds a view type to the core Bases plugin. You choose a number property, and the view shows the note link, the current value, the prior value and the difference. A comparison starts again at the start of each group.
You set the filters, the sort order, the groups and the limit in Bases. The plugin reads the rows that Bases supplies and adds the comparison columns.
Play demoChoose Number property in the view options. A note property or an evaluated number formula can supply the value. A positive difference means the current value is greater than the prior value.

The view keeps the group order and the row order that Bases supplies, and each group starts a separate sequence. The plugin adds no sort of its own, so choose a sort that fits the data before you read a difference.

A missing value keeps its row position, and the plugin does not skip it to find an older number. Text, boolean values and formula errors are invalid, even when the text looks like a number.

When Bases supplies updated results, the table reads the evaluated values again and replaces the old rows. The view does not calculate a formula itself.

A note above the table says that comparisons use only the filtered and limited result set. The view cannot compare the first row with a note outside that set.

The free version compares one number property with the prior row, with no second property, no row offset and no change per day.
Pro costs $5 a month or $15 one time through GitHub Sponsors. One sponsorship turns on Pro in every plugin that has it.
Select a second and a third number property to compare up to three properties in one table. Each property has its own current, prior and difference columns.

Set Prior-row offset from 2 to 100 to compare with a row farther back. Missing rows still count toward the offset, and the offset stays inside each group.

Select a date property to add a Per day column with the difference divided by the days between the two dates. The date must be a Bases date value, because a text property is not converted.

steps
Open a base and add a view of type Row deltas from the view menu.
Open the view options and select a number property.
Set the sort in Bases, for example an ascending sequence number.
Add a grouping when notes from different meters or projects need separate comparisons.
If the app can't find a new plugin yet, try again later. Obsidian says a plugin that passes the review shows in the app within 24 hours.

No. The comparison code reads Bases values and opens note links, and it writes no differences to properties. Bases can save changes to the view options in the base file.
A difference is empty when the current or the prior value is missing or invalid. The first row of each group has no prior row, so its difference is empty too.
No. Comparisons use only the filtered and limited result set that Bases supplies. Widen the filter or the limit in Bases to include more rows.
The view shows the numeric string value of each result, so decimal arithmetic can produce a long fraction. The plugin has no precision setting.
Until you select Sign in with GitHub, Bases Row Deltas makes no network requests. Sign in and the sponsorship check contact github.com and api.github.com with the scope read:user, and a successful check is reused for 7 days. The plugin sends no note content, file names or other vault data.
