About Frontmatter Link Repair

You have hand-written, imported or templated notes with unquoted wiki links in raw frontmatter.

Scan raw frontmatter for complete wiki links under selected top-level keys. Review the proposed quotes before applying checked changes with restore copies.

Preview the matches, apply the checked ones, then open the repaired notePlay demo

Free features

Preview with the old and new line

Scan a folder and its subfolders without writing notes. The preview shows paths, line numbers, keys and checked proposed changes.

Only complete links in the keys that you select

Choose top-level keys to repair. Complete scalar links and simple block-list items receive quotes while other keys and the note body stay unchanged.

Skip ambiguous YAML with a reason

The scanner skips ambiguous values rather than rebuilding them. Its reasons cover nested mappings, multiline values, duplicate keys and unsupported link text.

Restore copy and stale preview check

Apply saves an original-text restore copy before writing a note. It checks the text again and skips notes that changed after preview.

Pro features

Pro costs $5 a month or $15 one time through GitHub Sponsors. One sponsorship turns on Pro in every plugin that has it.

Saved folder and key presets Pro

Save named folder and key presets in the preview window. Pro lets you load or delete them later.

Export the repair report Pro

Export a new Markdown report with proposed lines, skipped parts, write results and restore-copy paths.

Questions about Frontmatter Link Repair

Can it rebuild links already saved as nested arrays?

This version doesn't reconstruct those values. It skips ambiguous YAML with a reason.

How do I undo a repair?

There is no restore button. Open the restore copy with a text editor and copy its original text back into the note.

How many notes can I review at once?

The preview displays up to 200 notes. Apply uses checked matches from those visible notes, so choose a smaller folder to review the others.

Network use

Before you select Sign in with GitHub, the plugin makes no network requests. Sign-in sends its client ID, the read:user scope and device-flow data to github.com, then sends an authenticated sponsorship query to api.github.com. Checks reuse success for 7 days, retry failures after 6 hours or run on Refresh; they send no vault data.
